Allergens

Tell us before we cook. This is a shared kitchen, not an allergen-free one.

How we cook

Dunnis Kitchen is a small Nottingham kitchen. The same pots, oil, boards and fryers are used across the menu. That means we cannot promise a dish is free from any allergen, even if that allergen is not listed as an ingredient.

If you have an allergy or intolerance, write it on the order notes or WhatsApp us before you pay. We will tell you honestly if a dish is not safe for you. If we are not sure, we will say so rather than guess.

If you have a severe allergy, collection or a restaurant with a dedicated allergen process may be safer than a shared home-style kitchen. We would rather lose the order than put you at risk.

The 14 UK allergens

These are the allergens we have to talk about clearly. Labels below are a kitchen guide, not a lab test. Recipes and suppliers can change. Always ask for the dish you want that day.

Spice, swallow and extras

Pepper heat is not an allergen, but it can still be a problem. Tell us if you need mild, medium or the full kitchen heat.

Swallow, plantain, extra protein and extra stew are packed from the same kitchen. If you add extras, tell us the allergy again. Do not assume an add-on is safe because the main dish sounded safe.

Catering and trays

Party trays travel in foil and are packed for a table, not for one person’s diet. If guests have mixed allergies, tell us in the enquiry. We can often keep a labelled tray separate. We cannot run a fully segregated cook for every guest unless we agree that in writing before the event.
